Computers 1983

Jerry Brody reports:

As I recall, in 1983, Dave Mitchell and Tom Fisher wanted to make this video to send to the IT departments of the OpCo’s.  At that time, there was a healthy competition between CITC and Automated Office Systems for the control of the desktop.  Dave and Tom wanted to convince the OpCo’s that San Francisco  was doing the research necessary to roll out and control “Professional Workstations”.  One reason was to reassure them that these would not be stand alone personal computers but would somehow be integrated with the rest of data processing and office services.  The video features Chuck Oldenburg, Tom Fisher, Gerald Brody and Rose (Scearcy) Taylor.
